A Study on the Quality Control of Infusion Set

Abstract
The standards and testing methods for infusion set were studied in this paper, and the sterilization method of the set wene discussed. Samples studied in this paper wear bought from domestic markets. The results of test could be summarized as follows.
1. Five domestic samples of the set were examined chemically, physically and biologically by the standards and test methods of the Japanese Pharmacopeia ¥· and the United States Pharmacopeia ¥¹¥¸.
2. The results of chemical tests were shown within the range of J.P. ¥· Standard for plastic aqueous containers. However the results of chemical tests were relatively high though the results were within the range.
3. The results of biological tests were shown within the range of Japanese infusion set standards. Sterilization method by Ethylene Oxide for the plastic preparations might be significant advantage.
4. The filtering net locating in a drop tube should have a function to filtering corpuscles. According to Japanese infusion set standard, its pore size has to be within 210¥ì. The results were shown beyond the range of Japanese infusion set standard and its thickness and shape were irregular.
5. The results of needle tests had many difference in diameter, thickness and length. It may be necessary to set up a industrial standard of it.
6. The standards and testing bethods for infusion set in Korea are not suitable for the quality control in some respect.
The standards and testing methods for infusion set in Korea should be prepared.
